What do you think, a horde of assassins, or a poor, innocent acolyte with tea?

A Jäger who wants to warm up by the stove or Brother Ulm inquiring as to what all the yelling is about?

If it's Dimo in his paper doll suit I will laugh myself silly!!!!  But, my bet is on him hanging outside the window with his iron arm frozen in place -- eavesdropping and up to other schneaky stuff!

This is Phil and Kaja we're talking about, it could be weirder and more plot-twisty than either of those ideas.

Poor woman - married to a horses arse with his head in a jar! Running from a wannabe Tsar, who's come from afar, the most evil by far, with his head up his arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... (..n't going to finish that thought actually!  :- )  )

PS: I was about to say something about such serendipitous meetings between key characters in remote locations being lazy writing, but changed my mind:  It's the middle of winter so travel is difficult, and Lady Selnikov is a fugitive seeking sanctuary; ERGO: she needs a travelling cathedral to escape in ...or a holy railway! Nice thinking guys!

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy.  You can make the argument that they're also 'a solid potential ally' or 'a good candidate for a diversion,' but 'my friend' isn't the base state here.
